The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Trust, an educational charity, owns the railway and manages the project to rebuild it.  With nearly 2000 members worldwide the Trust remains determined to reinstate the railway that was once (and will one day again become) the jewel in the crown of North Devon.

A subsidiary company is responsible for running the railway on a day-to-day basis.
