Visitor Information

Woody Bay Station is the ideal starting point for a short journey through some of the loveliest countryside in North Devon. The railway is surrounded by beautiful landscape and an exceptional environment.

Follow the links displayed in the menu on the left, and get more information about visiting the railway. For details of when trains are running, take a look at our timetable.

Sunny Steam at Killington Lane

Visitors may also wish to consider a walk from Killington Lane Halt to the nearest Pub - the Fox & Goose in Parracombe. Open most days but best to check first.

Annual Spring Gala Weekend
May 15th/16th

A weekend of special trains and side attractions to celebrate the anniversary of the opening of the railway in 1898.

Woody Bay Beer Festival
July 16th/17th/18th

What better combination than Real Ale and Steam Trains? A selection of locally brewed Real Ales will be available at Woody Bay Station.

Jack the Station Cat
August 14th/15th

This famous children's book character will visit Woody Bay Station, which features in one of the books in the series.

Annual Autumn Steam Gala September
25th/26th/27th

"Perchance it is not dead but sleepeth" - This year we expect a visit from 'Lyd' which is a replica of the Manning-Wardle locomotives that originally operated our railway. See our web site for details and any special park-and-ride arrangements. A weekend of fun for all for everyone from the family to the enthusiast.  This weekend is packed full of steam and side attractions.... an event not to be missed!

Santa Specials
December 11th/12th and 18th to 24th

Every child wants to see Santa at Christmas, but busy shops with long queues and hour-long waits to see Santa can quickly drain your Christmas cheer... Avoid the queues and see Santa at the L&B where you can get into the real Christmas spirit and enjoy a truly magical experience.  Book well in advance for discount rates - booking forms available from August.
