Our work weekends are an essential part of the behind-the-scenes maintenance and improvements that take place on the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway each Winter. General Manager Stuart Nelhams introduces the recent January Work Weekend with a focus on how we undertake our planned track relaying.
A generous donation allowed for the recent purchase of brand new 40 foot rail and we think this is the first new steel to have been laid on the railway since it first opened in 1898.
