Dogs Welcome

We are a Dog Friendly Railway - and welcome well behaved dogs and their owners at our stations and on our trains. In addition, dogs travel FREE provided that their owners have purchased a ticket and other passengers do not object. We only ask that for reasons of hygiene dogs are not allowed in 1st Class compartments or on the seats in 3rd Class.

If your dog enjoyed their time at the railway, please consider making a small donation on their behalf.

Water is usually available on the platform - if not please ask a member of our staff who will provide. Although allowed in the shop, due to a lack of space, dogs are not permitted in the Tea-Rooms. (Guide and Assistance dogs excepted). However, there is plenty of outside undercover seating where you can sit, drink, eat and still be with your dog.

All we ask is that all dog owners behave responsibly by keeping their dog on a lead at all times and should your dog do what all dogs do from time to time - please clean it up.
